As our team in Khan Younis continues its vital work, our Gaza City team has been forced to relocate to central Gaza due to yet another mandatory evacuation. There, in Nusairat, our water distribution has already begun.

To say central Gaza is overcrowded would be an understatement — it is bursting at the seams. The lines at our trucks stretch endlessly, the faces in them weary and worn. Still, we will continue to do everything within our power to meet their most basic needs.

Two Years — Lilac and Zain are my favorite wat

Two Years —

Lilac and Zain are my favorite watermelon seeds in all the world. Two years ago, I didn’t know their names, their laughter, or the light in their eyes — and they certainly didn’t know mine. Two years ago, Zain was just a year old. The only world she’s ever known is one of displacement. The one of living “without”.

And yet, despite it all, these little girls are surrounded by love — by family who holds them close, by art that lets them dream, and by hope that refuses to die.

I wish I could say the same for the hundreds of thousands of other children in Gaza. Many of them are gone now. Many are growing up without the warmth of a parent’s embrace. Many may never hold a paintbrush again, never chase a dream, never have the chance to simply be children.

Two years into a genocide broadcast on our phones, our duty is clear: to make sure that not a single life — child or adult — has ended in vain. Our job is to scream until the world can no longer look away. To defend Lilac. To defend Zain. To defend every child who has endured far more than two years of injustice. ❤️‍🩹🍉

Watermelon Sisters has been delivering clean water

Watermelon Sisters has been delivering clean water to Holy Family Church in Gaza City since April 29, 2025 — just days after the passing of Pope Francis, may God rest his soul. This weekend was no exception. Despite the danger, we brought an additional 12,000 liters of water to the church, bringing our total delivered to them to 37,000 liters over the past two weeks.

The people who serve and seek refuge within Holy Family refuse to abandon their sacred space — even under mandatory evacuation orders and ongoing threats from the illegal occupation. And because of their courage and steadfastness, we refuse to abandon them.
